Foreign Trade Enters Year-End Stocking Peak as Production and Logistics Shift into “Sprint Mode”

September 23 , 2025

As overseas construction, ceramics, glass, and advanced materials industries enter their traditional production peak season, China’s non-metallic mineral exports are now in a critical stocking phase for the second half of the year. As a major global supplier of mineral raw materials, domestic producers of industrial minerals such as Soda Feldspar (Albite), nepheline syenite, and quartz sand—along with logistics providers—are entering a “sprint mode” to ensure timely fulfillment of international orders.

In processing hubs across Hunan, Jiangxi, and Guangxi, production lines are operating at full capacity. Some manufacturers have shifted from single-shift to double-shift operations to meet concentrated overseas shipment demands before the end of September. Industry data indicates that the July-to-September period is the golden window for markets in Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia to stockpile raw materials for Q4 production. Rising environmental regulations in key importing countries have further driven demand for high-purity, low-impurity refined minerals.

Foreign trade industry is on the rise

Customs statistics show that from January to August 2025, China’s exports of non-metallic minerals and processed products increased by 6.3% year-on-year, with high-end categories such as high-whiteness Soda Feldspar (Albite) and low-iron nepheline syenite growing over 10%. On the logistics front, exporters report tight container capacity and modest freight rate increases. However, overall shipping efficiency has improved thanks to pre-positioned overseas warehouses and optimized multimodal transport solutions. Some leading enterprises have established stable partnerships with shipping giants like Maersk and COSCO Shipping, securing dedicated fast-vessel routes to shorten delivery cycles.

Meanwhile, cross-border e-commerce platforms and digital foreign trade services are rapidly penetrating traditional mineral trading. Online matchmaking, credit guarantees, and one-stop logistics solutions are enabling small and medium-sized mining companies to more efficiently connect with overseas buyers, expanding into emerging markets in South America, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. This shift is driving a transformation of China’s non-metallic mineral exports—from simple “resource exporting” to “standard exporting.”

Against the backdrop of a broader foreign trade recovery, key industrial minerals such as Soda Feldspar (Albite) and nepheline syenite are witnessing a positive trend in export markets.

1. Soda Feldspar (Albite): Strong Demand from Ceramics and Glass Sectors, Optimized Export Structure

As a critical fluxing agent in ceramic and glass manufacturing, Soda Feldspar (Albite) is widely used in tableware, architectural ceramics, and glass products. With infrastructure and consumer market expansion in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, demand for mid-to-high-end ceramic goods is rising, boosting imports of high-quality feldspar. Since 2025, Chinese exporters in Hunan and Jiangxi have reported steady year-on-year order growth, particularly for refined Soda Feldspar (Albite) with high whiteness and low iron content, which is increasingly favored by overseas customers. Some companies have begun establishing overseas warehouses to improve delivery speed and strengthen customer relationships.

2. Nepheline : High-Performance Applications Driving Growth and Market Expansion

Valued for its low iron, low alkali, and high alumina content, nepheline  offers irreplaceable advantages in high-end glass, electronic encapsulation materials, coatings, and composites. In recent years, growing demand in Europe and North America for eco-friendly, high-performance materials has highlighted its potential to replace traditional raw materials like standard feldspar and quartz. In 2025, orders from Northern and Western Europe and North America have risen noticeably, especially for applications in energy-efficient glass and coatings for new energy vehicle components. Domestic nepheline syenite processors are intensifying R&D in purification and surface modification technologies to enhance product value, shifting from “raw material exports” to “functional material exports.”

Outlook

With the global peak season approaching, China’s foreign trade momentum remains strong. Alongside the surge in consumer goods exports, industrial minerals like Soda Feldspar (Albite) and nepheline syenite are seizing structural opportunities. Enterprises should closely monitor market shifts, enhance product quality and supply chain responsiveness, and leverage cross-border e-commerce and digital logistics platforms to expand into diversified international markets—paving the way for a comprehensive upgrade from “Made in China” to “Smart Manufacturing” and global branding.
